THE centennial All England championships will be a special occasion for men's singles Lee Chong Wei and doubles Koo Kien Keat- Tan Boon Heong as it will be the first time Malaysians have been given top billing in both events.

Chong Wei, in the form of his life, has already stated his intention of ending the reign of Lin Dan, the second seed, and will be looking forward to winning his third consecutive title of the year.

It will be a world class field for the men's singles as the top 25 players will be competing and a Chong Wei-Lin Dan final is on the cards.

Chen Jin of China is the third seed while Indonesia's Taufik Hidayat is seeded fourth.

In the men's doubles, the top eight pairs will be playing and it will be a major challenge for Kien Keat-Boon Heong, who have struggled to win tournaments with such quality in recent times.

South Korea's Lee Yong Dae-Jung Jae Sung, the Malaysians' biggest threats, are the second seeds while Olympic champions Markis Kido- Hendra Setiawan and Mathias Boe-Carsten Mogensen of Denmark are seeded third and fourth respectively.

Two-time world champions Fu Haifeng-Cai Yun of China are the fifth seeds and this is where the danger lies as there is a possibility Kien Keat-Boon Heong might meet them in the quarter- finals.

Veterans Choong Tan Fook-Lee Wan Wah are seeded eighth while Indonesians Alvent Yulianto-Hendra Gunawan and China's Xu Chen-Guo Zhendong are seeded sixth and seventh respectively.
